Upcycling authentic military recognized style: RE_Classic

For the Spring/Summer ‘21 season, Myar embraces a new clean, timeless aesthetic, which combined with the brand’s signature military-inspired silhouettes and patterns, gives life to intriguing unisex items. The brand’s iconic military style gets a fresh, lively makeover through the use of a classic fashion language.

Embarking on an exciting exploration of the concept of “classic,” Myar plays with the idea of classic military upcycling with a modern view of the past.

In keeping with its iconic approach aimed at giving new life to deadstock materials and second-hand garments in order to create new products featuring higher value and upscale quality, this season, Myar not only employees a range of vintage military and urban items, but also extends its use of deadstock fabrics.

Scouting suppliers guaranteeing transparency and traceability, for the collection, Myar teamed up with a local textile company, featuring the Re Live Tex certification, to select a range of “transparent” fabrics, showing timeless stripes, becoming the focal point of the brand’s collection.

Focusing on a fresh, calming color palette of gray, light blue and beige tones, combined with the essential purity of white, cotton boxer shorts, shirts, as well as workwear pants and overalls, are enriched with contrasting military patch pockets, while a lightweight shirt jacket injected with an utilitarian feel features the taping usually appearing on the lining of military parkas.

Embracing an authentically sustainable approach, the textile waste from the product of these garments is used to craft logo T-shirts. Among the jerseys, Myar unveils tops revealing the brand’s new manifesto celebrating deadstock fabrics and upcycling, featuring punchy wordings including “Sartorial operations command.”

Playing with signature military references and its sartorial spirit, new emblems are printed on the upcycled Nineties’ rugby and polo shirts, showing pastel colors, pristine white poplin collars and patchwork sleeves in the US desert camouflage patterns, while the classic military ribbons are replace with a patchwork of stripes on a hybrid piece, combining the silhouette of a field jacket and a blazer.

Quintessentially feminine, striped tops of the Russian navy are printed with the Myar logo and then cropped for a fun, sexy look.

If jersey pants and sweatshirts, which are garment dyed with certified organic elements, exude a relaxed, effortless vibe, Myar’s signature creative artisanal craftsmanship results in a range of high-end garments, including revisited pants and shorts of the Italian army, as well as a field jacket with a Czechoslovak camouflage, as well as a Sweden military parka, all embellished with painted irregular stripes for a touch of sartorial appeal.
